About Us

Charity Event Management came into being because of a desire to give to charitable organizations in the area, but lacking the ability to help all those that
need it. To be able to help many worthy organizations, we wanted to raise funds without being intrusive, pushy or whiny, while asking for donations, but
still raise enough money for it to make a difference for the receiving organization. We think we have accomplished that goal with what we do with
Charity Event Management.

One thing we don't want to do is mislead anyone into thinking that Charity Event Management is a non-profit organization. In fact, we are a for-profit
company, registered in the State of Florida as such, and we operate with the mission that if we are successful, then we are making charities successful
too. We do expend a great deal of time putting these events together, and we feel our experience and abilities deserve a reward for bringing all the
components together for a successful event.

Our specialty event is the Texas Hold'em style poker tournaments, but we can also run golf tournaments and softball tournaments. Because of television
airing of events by ESPN, the Travel Channel and some regional networks, Texas Hold'em poker has spawned the interest of millions of people around
the world, which virtually anyone has the ability to play. Based on this interest, we mostly operate charitable poker tournaments. We own all the
necessary equipment (tables, chips, cards, etc.) to operate a large poker event, up to 180 players.

In the tournaments we operate, we attempt to create a "turn-key" solution for organizations, so they are not saddled with lots of leg-work, which is
often required for a fundraising event, and usually by an all-volunteer group. We also try to customize an event to each group's goals, but with a
reality-based approach. We want to make sure optimistic desires and wants don't exceed the realistically attainable targets.

What we've done…..and what we are doing

When we started in May 2006, we had an idea on how to raise funds at a local poker event for a non-profit scholarship fund for a local alumni group.

In January and February 2006, we put on "Hold'em on the Harbor" in Destin, Florida, and raised just under $5,000.00 for four local non-profit groups.

In October 2006, we held our first large-scale event, "Poker Safari", for the Northwest Florida Zoo, who was, and still is, in need of lots of community and
corporate donations to overcome the effects resulting from Hurricane Ivan in 2004. Poker Safari did raise over $25,000.00 for the Zoo though, and
another tournament is scheduled for May 16th, 2008.

Beginning in January 2008, we began our winter series called "Hold'em on the Highway". We have eight local charities benefitting from the proceeds of the
series, and hope to make the series an annual event for the Emerald Coast.

Coming up on March 28th, 2008, we will be in Troy, Alabama for "Trojan Hold'em", an event to benefit the Troy University Alumni Chapter in Pike County.

Interest from a number of non-profit groups has been received, and we are looking at each inquiry closely to determine the ability of an event to attain
each group's goals.

If you are a member of a charity or non-profit group looking for a new event to raise funds, contact us at cem@msllc.gccoxmail.com.
If you are interested in participating in one of our events, please take a look at the events we have scheduled, but by all means, keep checking back for
other events that may take place in the future.
